Yesterday I had the opportunity to go on a field trip with my daughter.  We traveled to the state capitol and also to the botanical center in Des Moines.  It was a really exciting trip.  If you have never been to our state capitol I would highly recommend it!  It is a very beautiful building full of a wealth of history and interesting artifacts.  The botanical center wasn’t quite as much fun but it is still interesting.  They have an extremely large variety of botanical exhibits and plants on display.  One of our highlights there was seeing a banana tree!  By far and away though it was the most enjoyable to just ride the bus, call the adults Mrs. Jones, eat a sack lunch, and feel like I was in elementary school again!
