Just a little over a week to go until the football season starts up for Iowa State!  I must say that I am really looking forward to watching them play this year and seeing how the year goes for them in the new look Big 12.  

As you enjoy the nice weather and the big games make sure and remember to be courteous to your neighbors and responsible for your guests.

I just want to take a minute and extend a brief welcome to all of our new tenants that just moved in for the 2011-2012 leasing season!  All of us here at Haverkamp Properties are excited to get to know you and we are looking forward to the next year.  

My name is Dave Hyman and I am the Ames Property Manager, please feel free to give me a call if there is anything at all that I can do to be of assistance to you in any way.

Moving season is around the corner! Remember these helpful tips when getting ready to move out! Happy moving everybody!

1. CARPETS: Carpets must be cleaned using an extraction process prior to checkout time. (See move out packet for more information)
2. UTILITIES: Please remember to keep your utilities on through checkout. Remember to stop or transfer service after that. Remember we are not responsible for utilities left in your name.
3. CHECKOUT TIMES: Checkout appointments are assigned: NO EXCEPTIONS unless moving out prior to July 31. Please schedule an appointment for an early checkout. Early checkouts are eligible for reduced carpet cleaning. (See move out packet for more information)
4. READY FOR CHECKOUT: There is a charge if your apartment is not ready by your scheduled checkout time so please make sure you are ready.
5. CLEANING: Refer to the checkout packet that was delivered to your apartment for cleaning guidelines and questions or stop by the office to pick one up. Any area’s that are not done properly will be taken out of your deposit.
6. FORWARDING ADDRESS: Don’t forget to fill out your forwarding address form. This is important because we will need an address to send the deposit to. This form is located in your Checkout Packet.
7. AUTOMATIC ONLINE PAYMENTS: Please stop your online automatic rent payment if you regularly pay rent online.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to go on a field trip with my daughter.  We traveled to the state capitol and also to the botanical center in Des Moines.  It was a really exciting trip.  If you have never been to our state capitol I would highly recommend it!  It is a very beautiful building full of a wealth of history and interesting artifacts.  The botanical center wasn’t quite as much fun but it is still interesting.  They have an extremely large variety of botanical exhibits and plants on display.  One of our highlights there was seeing a banana tree!  By far and away though it was the most enjoyable to just ride the bus, call the adults Mrs. Jones, eat a sack lunch, and feel like I was in elementary school again!

Recently we have received several calls in regards to questions about move out information.  I think that with school getting out here pretty soon people are interested in knowing what the process looks like.  Others won’t even think about this until July 30th.  

We are editing our move out information packet, providing minor tweaks and changes, but stay tuned for us to hopefully get that posted to our website.
